When it comes to household cleaning, the oven is undoubtedly one of the most challenging areas to tackle in our kitchen. Residual food and oil build up inside the oven, and due to high temperatures and infrequent cleaning, they harden, making them extremely difficult to remove.

While we’ve discussed various methods for cleaning and degreasing the oven without using chemical products, this article aims to share a tiny secret that speeds up the oven cleaning process and helps achieve better results.

The door of most ovens is equipped with a latch that allows us to remove the glass for easy cleaning.

This latch, resembling a small hook, is located on both sides of the oven door, very close to the hinges that enable the opening and closing of the door.

To remove the oven glass, simply open the door completely, locate the latches, and bend them with your fingers or with the help of a tool like a screwdriver.

It’s crucial to be very careful during this operation, both to avoid injury and to protect the oven’s opening and closing function. If uncertain, it’s advisable to research one’s oven model before proceeding with this operation.

Once the oven glass is removed, simply clean it with a cloth soaked in a solution of vinegar and baking soda to remove all stains and food residues that have accumulated during oven use.

Note: The oven door glass is tempered and, therefore, very heavy, as well as fragile. Take the necessary precautions.
